FAQ
VEYL uses six independent detection modules that each analyse different dimensions of the writing. When multiple modules agree, accuracy is very high. No detector is 100% accurate, but by combining heuristic, statistical, semantic, and psycholinguistic analysis, VEYL significantly reduces false positives and false negatives compared to single-method tools.
Standard Scan runs three local modules: heuristic analysis, statistical analysis, and hidden character detection. It's available on all plans including Free. Deep Scan adds three additional cloud-powered modules: semantic AI analysis, RAIDAR rewrite detection, and psycholinguistic profiling. Deep Scan is more thorough and is included in the Pro plan.
Yes — you get 10,000 words per month completely free with our Standard three-module analysis. No credit card required. Upgrade to Basic or Professional when you need higher word limits, exports, or deeper analysis.
Your documents are processed in memory and are never stored permanently on our servers. We take privacy seriously — your text is not used for training, is not shared with third parties, and is deleted after analysis.
VEYL accepts .docx, .doc, .pdf, .rtf, .txt, .odt, and .md files. For best results with annotation export, we recommend uploading .docx files so highlighted sections can be shown inline in your original document.
Light editing of AI text may change some surface-level indicators, but VEYL's multi-module approach analyses deeper patterns — statistical distributions, cognitive complexity, and psycholinguistic markers that are very difficult to fake through simple editing.
The annotated export creates a copy of your document with colour-coded highlights on flagged sections (red for high, yellow for medium, turquoise for low severity). Each highlight includes a margin comment explaining what AI pattern was detected and a suggestion for how to address it. A summary report page is appended at the end.
